The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)

I think at some point in our life, everyone was once a wallflower. Some might feel they are one more often than another. But I think this is why The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) has touched so many people hearts, in addition to it being a very good film itself. So, as you might have guessed, this movie has been wholeheartedly added to my favourite movie hall of fame.

This is London

These photos were taken in June during The Queen Birthday Parade aka Trooping the Colour last year. I was looking for something to showcase Londoness. Surely, the Royal Family is very much the heart and symbol of London and the United Kingdom as a whole. But that is not the reason I select these photos to represent London.

Since I moved to London, I have never really felt at home with the city. Until recently, I was so tried I kind of put my guard down and started to enjoy the city and embrace my life here a bit more. Not so many cities in the world overwhelmed by tourists and foreigners yet still grasp on its history, its norm, and even its so-called snobbism as well as London. Continue reading

Sweet Sixteen

I am turning twenty-six today. I know that is far older than sixteen and I didn’t mean to deceive you by the header. But as I am reaching twenty-six, I am reminded of the time I was turning sixteen. Honestly, I can’t remember, but it was supposed to be sweet, wasn’t it? And now at twenty-six, can it still be a candy-flavoured coming-of-age? Or sugar is restricted for grown-ups? Am I at all a grown-up? What had happened to that sixteen-year-old girl? How different am I at twenty-six from my sixteen self?

What had happened between these ten years…?
